HEY RANGER FRIENDS!

We just completed our first week of labor at CAMP MONSTRO, and we learned more, and moved ahead!

Here’s what happened:

  • We got electricity turned on! Turns out, we have a SECOND fuse box in the corner of our land, where the power comes in. We had to flip that breaker to make the magic happen, and it did! We have power!

  • We turned on the well! Another victory… at least, a short lived one. We pumped a bunch of brown rusty water out of it, and managed to take a bath in our horse trough tub. Sounds gross, it wasn’t so bad.

  • Then the well died. Yes, after 1 day of use, our well died. We don’t know WHY it died, or how… just yet. We have a recommended well expert heading out there soon.

  • We got 52 yards (two huge truckloads) of leech rock (big gravel) brought in, as the foundation for our Container Ramada.

  • We borrowed a tractor and an excavator from a friendly neighbor, Mr. E. Thank you kindly, Sir.

  • I drove a tractor for the first time in 35 years, and attempted to spread the rock around in a level manner. It’s not level… yet.

  • I learned how to operate an excavator, which turned out to be a ton of fun. It has a jaw.

  • I moved a big boulder/rock pile 3 times, while adding more and more rocks to it.

  • We pulled out a bunch of mesquite bushes/trees. These things are amazingly strong, with 30 ft tap roots that are as fiberous as a Grabboid

  • We replaced our main water faucet… which was stripped, the handle was worn off, and it was completely unusable. Now, we’ve got brass!

  • We tried out our compost toilet, the “Dung Depot”. We used coconut husks for the “medium” which didn’t smell at all. Separate the liquids from the solids for the win!

  • I ran over my Rangers water bottle with a tractor, thogh it still is functional?

  • We drove to Douglas, AZ for the first time, and managed to buy 2 shovels for $7 each…. c’mon, that’s a STEAL!

  • We went to the Cochise County Permit Opt-Out Expo, which was really cool. Met a lot of good vendors and even a couple of Youtuble alt builders we follow.
